Mr. Vinson Career Technical Education Courses
Classroom Policies and Procedures
**Updated for Distance Learning**

Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with my important classroom policies and procedures.

Restroom Use

Computech's bell schedule includes specific times for restroom use, including before school, breaks, lunch, and after school. Class time is not a proper time for restroom use. We do realize, however, that sometimes restroom use cannot be avoided. Students may occasionally use the restroom during class time as needed. Please make sure you are present, active in teams for the start of each period, throughout each period, and at the end of each period for closure.

AS SOON AS you return from the restroom, please check to see if I sent you a CHAT in Teams.

Getting Help

When getting help, it's important that you follow these procedures:

Grading

Students will be graded on projects, presentations, team collaboration, skills assessments, vocabulary, business interactions, daily BYOD and participation, and a detailed engineering notebook.

Late Assignments
  • IF the assignment grade has NOT been entered into ATLAS, turn in the assignment into Microsoft Teams as usual.
  • IF the assignment grade HAS been entered into ATLAS, send a CHAT (in TEAMS) with the late assignment attached as well as a note explaining why it is late AND your period number.
  • Missing assignments submitted late (following the above steps) will be docked one point if it less than one week late. After one week, assignments will be docked one point per additional week late.
  • Assignments that were originally submitted ON-TIME and COMPLETE, but did not receive full credit, can be turned in AGAIN with corrections for NO DEDUCTION in points through until grades are finalized (1 week before the end of the quarter).

90%+ A/ 80%+ B/ 70%+ C/ 60%+ D/ Lower than 60 F

Absences

Excused/Ill
Please make sure you continue to check-in with your instructor on a daily basis, as possible. Follow along with your assignments, reach out to get help if you need it, and submit assignments in Teams when they are due.

School Business
Field trips, sports games, and other school business absences require advanced approval of Mr. Vinson. You will be expected to participate in any and all class review videos and assignments for the day(s) of your school business absence.

Tech/Teams Issues
With a 15 minute break between classes, you should try to be in class a little early to make sure you are on time. If you have any issues connecting, you are responsible for sending me a CHAT in TEAMS immediately. This should be your first activity when you are having meeting connection issues. Please be specific with the type of problem you are seeing.

If you are ABSENT due to tech issues, YOUR PARENT needs to call the school (559) 457-2640 to clear the absence, and don't forget that you are responsible for making up the work you miss as soon as you are connected. YOU need to contact me via TEAMS CHAT immediately upon your technology working again.

Needed Equipment

If you are having ANY Technical Issues, immediately send me a CHAT in TEAMS as SOON as you realize there is a problem. Be specific in explaining your problem, and include the type of computer you have (For example, FUSD HP X360 Laptop).

If you CANNOT access Teams, try restarting your computer. If you still CANNOT access Teams, text or call the School Librarian at
559-549-3758. She might be able to help.

Academic Integrity

Any activity with the purpose of creating or obtaining an unfair academic advantage over another, or inhibiting the progress of another's academic process violates academic integrity. This includes, but is not limited to, taking any work or portion thereof from any other source and claiming it as your own.

First offense consequences include a NO CREDIT mark on the offending assignment(s), an ATLAS portfolio entry on your permanent record, and a parent contact.
