Other Computech Career Tech Courses:

Robotics
West
Robotics isn't just for NASA engineers. If you are interested in working with the LEGO Mindstorms technology to design and build 21st century robots, then this class is for you. Students will work with NXT and EV3 based LEGO robotics kits to design and build robotic solutions to some cool problems. This course is designed for creators with the passion for a year long exploration in the world of Robotics. Students may take this course a second year with advanced curriculum.
Computer Programming for Devices
Vizthum
Take control of the world around you by learning how to control devices with computer code. In this class, you will learn how to develop software for robotic systems to solve problems. Students will learn how to program and build various devices utilizing some or all of the following; VEX IQ, Arduino, and Raspberry PI. Students may take this course a second year with different class projects. (Computech ICT A and Computech ICT B)
Medical Detective/BioMed
Bernyk
Students play the role of real-life medical detectives as they collect and analyze medical data to diagnose disease. They solve medical mysteries through hands-on projects and labs, measure and interpret vital signs, dissect a sheep brain, investigate disease outbreaks, and explore how a breakdown within the human body can lead to dysfunction. (8th grade only course at this time)
Exploring Engineer Design
Vinson
Use the creative design process to push the limits of creativity, design projects in CAD, and prototype your inventions using our numerous 3d Printers and other maker-space fabrication tools. Streamline the aerodynamics of your twist-propeller airplanes to make them fly faster, strengthen the structure of your bridge, improve the design of your pinewood derby style race car to shave off a fraction of a second, and tweak the shape of your boat's sail for our regatta. Test. Re-design. Re-Prototype. Again. In this class, learning from your failures is the best way to success. Your journey through Engineering and Design culminates in real-world competition-based capstone projects, and includes several opportunities to earn real-world industry certifications.
